1. What is the Nordic sauna and cold plunge experience?
Our Nordic sauna and cold plunge experience combines a wood-fired sauna with Driftless fresh air and optional cold exposure with miles of panoramic Driftless views. This contrast therapy supports relaxation, circulation, mental clarity, and overall wellbeing.

2. What should I bring to a sauna session?
Bring shorts and t-shirt or swimwear, towel, water bottle, clean slip-on sauna shoes. You may bring a robe or sauna hat if desired.

3. Is the sauna experience private?
We offer both private sauna sessions and small group experiences, depending on availability. Group sessions are limited in size to maintain a calm, comfortable experience. You can book the sauna for a private session. If you would like to book a private sauna session, please contact us at historicdriftlessretreat.com to coordinate.​

4. How long is a typical sauna and cold plunge session?
Most sessions last approximately 60 minutes, allowing time to move gently between heat, cold air or plunge, and rest. Longer sessions or special events may be available. Please contact us at historicdriftlessretreat.com to discuss any special requests.

5. Do I have to do the cold plunge?
No. Cold exposure is always optional. Many guests choose to cool off with fresh air instead. We encourage everyone to listen to their body and participate at their own comfort level.

6. What are the health benefits of sauna and cold plunge therapy?
Regular sauna use and contrast therapy may support muscle recovery, stress reduction, improved circulation, better sleep, and mental resilience. Feel rejuvenated. Rewire your wellbeing. While many guests find these practices beneficial, they are not intended as medical treatment.

7. Is the sauna experience safe?
Yes, when used responsibly. Guests are provided with clear guidance on sauna use, hydration, and rest periods. Those who are pregnant or have medical conditions should consult their healthcare provider before participating.

8. Can I book a sauna session without staying overnight?
Yes. We offer sauna and cold plunge sessions that do not require an overnight stay, subject to availability.

9. What is your cancellation policy?
Due to small size and limited availability, sauna cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance for full refund.
